Payroll/Corporate Tax Reform
February 24, 2012
Dear Friends,
Last week Congress passed a year-long extension of the payroll tax holiday, keeping an average of $1,000 in the pockets of 160 million American families. In an effort to keep the momentum rolling and rebuild America’s economy, President Obama on Wednesday proposed the framework to lower the corporate tax rate from 35% to 28%. Doing so will create an equal playing field for all American businesses while making them more competitive in the global economy. I have long been a vocal proponent of such reform and commend President Obama for putting it back on the table. I look forward to working hard in Congress to create a tax system that fairly represents the entirety of our great nation while creating jobs and improving our economy.
