Payroll Tax Cut Extended!
February 17, 2012
Dear Friends,
Today my Democratic Colleagues in Congress accomplished a victory for millions of Americans: we passed H.R. 3630, the Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act by a vote of 293-132 in the House and 60-36 in the Senate. After much pushback, Republicans finally agreed to a one-year extension of the Payroll Tax Cut, Unemployment Benefits, and retain affordable Medicare for seniors. I hope that Republicans will build on this compromise and join our efforts to pass other pillars of President Obama's American Jobs Act in propelling our economy forward.
