With the holiday season approaching, use this free Facebook application to send a personalized message to our troops with the click of a button, as well as view a list of all friends currently serving or connected to the military.
1. Visit the ‘A Nation Gives Thanks’ app page.
2. Click on ‘Add to My Page’ link on left-hand side of the page
3. Select which page you wish to add this app to. The app will now be on your chosen page!
4. Go to your page and click "Edit" on the left column of your page (you may need to click "More" to see the "Edit" link) and you can move the tab entitled "A Nation Gives Thanks" around and then click "Done. |
In keeping with the spirit of sharing this Thanksgiving holiday, now is not the time for Congress to consider cuts to vital programs that so many of our neighbors depend on for their survival during these harsh economic times in our country.
Regardless of one's faith, I believe we all have a moral obligation to help those who are hungry, poor, aged, and sick, and thank these organizations for their generosity and compassion.
I would like to recognize numerous organizations in our Manhattan Congressional District dedicated to helping those most in need of help. I encourage my fellow New Yorkers to unite behind this spirit by volunteering at a local food shelter, foodbanknyc.org.
We can embrace the season with hope for a better future for our community and country. I wish you all a blessed and Happy Thanksgiving.
