American Jobs Act
September 16, 2011
Dear Friends,
The American people have spoken: they want jobs, jobs, jobs. The President has listened and is asking Congress to act immediately to help America get back to work. While it won't solve all our economic woes overnight, the American Jobs Act is a strong plan to accelerate our economic recovery and pump hope back into our economy. In the state of New York alone, the American Jobs Act will deliver tax cuts to 440,000 businesses, put 65,000 people to work rebuilding local infrastructure, prevent 18,000 teacher and first responder layoffs, and offer $1,550 in tax relief to a typical household. After more than 8 months of creating no jobs, it is time for House Republicans to put their rigid ideologies aside and work with the Democrats to support the President. We cannot afford to play any more political games. Livelihoods of more than 14 million Americans are on the line.
