Celebrating America's Workforce

September 2, 2011
Dear Friends,

This coming Labor Day on Monday, September 5, we honor the countless generations of working men and women who are the backbone of America's greatness. As we honor their contributions, we are reminded that we have a duty to strengthen our economy and create new job opportunities for so many Americans still seeking employment. My Democratic colleagues have introduced several job-creating bills to revitalize the economy. However, Republicans continue to advance a job-killing agenda of harmful cuts and rewarding companies who outsource labor. Too many people are struggling at this time for Congress to be engaged in petty partisanship over bills that do not create jobs or stimulate the economy. I call on my friends across the aisle to set aside their hyper-partisan goals and come together with us on 'Make It In America' and guide our nation to a bright future.
