Help for Credit Cardholders - Plus Visible Vote

Back in May 2009, the President signed the Credit Cardholders' Bill of Rights Act and most of the bill’s provisions became effective in August 2009 and February 2010.
Beginning on August 22, two additional provisions of the Credit Cardholders’ Bill of Rights will go into effect:
- Requiring penalty fees for such things as late payments to be reasonable and proportional; and
- Requiring credit card companies, if they raise your interest rate, to re-evaluate that rate increase every 6 months and, if appropriate, reduce that rate within 45 days after completing the evaluation.

I'm also pleased to announce that I became the first legislator in Congress to use Visible Vote -- an online/mobile app that will allow me to share my voting record and viewpoints, as well as conduct real-time polls, via Facebook account or smartphones.

Join thousands of your friends and neighbors to help raise money to support the Harlem: Healthy Eating and Living (HEAL) Initiative.
At St. Nicholas Park there will be Cultural Programming, Health Screenings, Historic Park Guided Tours and other activities for the entire family.
The evening ends with a special NYC Outdoor Dance Concert.
