RAISING THE DEBT CEILING
June 3, 2011
Dear Friends,
May's jobs report is a clear sign that more must be done to expand our economy and put people back to work. Yet, in the 150 days of the GOP-controlled House, Republicans have refused to bring a single jobs bill to the House floor – instead voting twice to end Medicare and increase costs for seniors while providing tax cuts to companies that ship American jobs overseas. The Republicans are also gambling our future by refusing to raise the debt ceiling. America's fiscal reputation is on the line; we should not play games with the full faith in credit of the United States of America and must come together as a nation.
