Saluting our Veterans
May 27, 2011
Dear Friends,
I join Americans across our great nation on Memorial Day in thanking our veterans for their service and patriotism. I am especially honored to represent the 2,500 courageous men and women living in our district who have defended freedom at home and abroad. As a veteran myself, I fully appreciate the sacrifices veterans and their families make on America's behalf. I understand that there are many difficulties veterans often face upon discharge, from battling PTSD to finding employment. That is why I introduced the Mandatory Transition Assistance bill that would help returning veterans receive guidance and training in necessary job-search skills. I hope that our veterans and their loved ones find great joy this Memorial Day weekend in knowing that the entire nation salutes them.
