This is a program where I go to grocery stores throughout the district to talk one-on-one with constituents. I look forward to meeting with you to talk about whatever is on your mind. Government in the Grocery is about being available to listen to you in a less formal setting. This kind of access is essential to the fabric of our democracy. Please note that due to time constraints, constituents will be given priority and individuals and groups may be limited to approximately 5 minute intervals.

Purple Heart Awarded to Aurora Korean War Veteran

Brigadier General Sal Villano, Marilyn Stensgaard, Mr. Ross Donald Stensgaard & family with Ed

Yesterday I had the honor and privilege of presenting Ross Donald Stensgaard, an 83 year-old Korean War Veteran, with a Purple Heart medal for wounds he received during a combat artillery barrage. Stensgaard served with an infantry unit in Korea from Nov. 8, 1950 - Oct. 7, 1951. After his combat tour in Korea, Stensgaard spent a full career in the airline industry working for Western Airlines and Delta airlines in customer service. For the last 18 years, Mr. Stensgaard continues to work for the Denver car auction three days a week.

Meeting this American hero and his wonderful family was an unbelievable experience I will never forget. I also want to thank all of our nation's veterans for their service and sacrifice in defending our country. If you or a loved one would like more information about obtaining lost medals or medals you have never received please call my District Office and we can help you through the process.

Ed,

Thanks for helping me with a federal pension miscalculation. As a retired federal worker, I really needed help in resolving a conflicting accounting disagreement. Not knowing what to do, I turned to your office for help. Your staff handled my case with professionalism, persistence, and patience. With your help I was able to get the problem solved.
