As most of you know, we decided to postpone my Jan. 29 Government in the Grocery in the wake of the Arizona tragedies. However, I am absolutely committed to continuing the program in the future. My staff and I will be meeting with the grocery stores and law enforcement to ensure we move forward in a responsible way considering the safety of everyone involved. Government in the Grocery is about being available to listen to the hardworking people in the 7th Congressional District in a less formal setting to talk about the issues on their mind. I value this interaction and time I get to spend with you in a one-on-one basis. This kind of access is essential to the fabric of our democracy, and I look forward to seeing you soon. We currently have another Government in the Grocery scheduled for Sat. Feb. 12, 2011. Time and location will be posted on my website soon.

Keep checking the Schedule of Events section on my website for updates.

Yesterday I Stood Up for Individual Freedom

While Republicans in the House voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act, it is still the law of the land and the Senate will not take up this repeal legislation. The Affordable Care Act was an important step forward for freedom from health insurance discrimination and abuse. I am open to building upon this bill and improving it where necessary, but a full repeal is a radical step backwards for the hard working people of the 7th Congressional District.

My Office Is Here to Help You!

One of the most important functions of serving in Congress is helping my constituents cut through some of the red tape when dealing with government agencies. While my office will not always be able to help, I take pride in having the most responsive District Office possible. We help constituents with many casework issues including passport, IRS, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and Veterans Administration (VA) benefits. If you have any questions about potential casework please call my District Office at: 303-274-7944.

Ed,

Thank you for helping me get my Green Card. The USCIS was unnecessarily delaying my paperwork and your office was able to help me resolve this problem quickly. Thanks again Ed to you and your staff.
