Helping Constituents Cut Through Red Tape

7th Congressional District Resident Palmer Turner

My office is here to help the hard working people of the 7th Congressional District cut through some of the red tape when dealing with a government agency. If you are having an issue with a federal agency please call my office – my staff and I will always do our best to help. I'm proud my office was able to help Palmer, a federal employee, with an Office of Personnel Management (OPM) disability retirement issue.

Ed & Staff,

I wanted you to know that my disability retirement was approved and I finally received my back pay from OPM. Let me start by saying how grateful I am for your help in this matter. This correction will allow me to stay in my home. Anyway, again I wanted to say thank you for all of your help. It could not have come at a better time.

Oodles of thanks!
Palmer Turner

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) was created as part of the Wall Street Reform bill known as The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010 (Dodd-Frank Act). It was established to help you the consumer from fraud and abuse from a variety of industries including credit card companies, mortgage lending institutions and various veterans financial programs.

Right now their credit card complaint hotline is up and running. If you feel you are the victim of abuse from a credit card company or have a complaint visit the CFPB website. Additionally, if you are behind on your mortgage the CFBP offers a referral service to a variety of resources to help you stay in your home - click here for mortgage assistance information.

Light Rail Expansion Will Spur Economic Development

Ed speaking at the funding announcement ceremony & talking with small business owners

Yesterday I had the privilege of joining Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, Governor Hickenlooper and many other local, state and federal officials in Olde Town Arvada for the final funding announcement and groundbreaking for the completion of the RTD Gold Line Light Rail expansion from Arvada to Wheat Ridge, and the East Rail Line to DIA.

It’s estimated that every $1 invested in transit infrastructure translates into a $4 return on investment in the local economy over a 20-year period. That’s an investment we all benefit from for years to come. Rebuilding and expanding America’s transportation infrastructure is a key element to our nation’s economic recovery. And with this unique long-term public-private partnership, the Denver region will continue to lead the nation with innovative and outside-the-box solutions to meet our transportation needs.

This light rail project will be a boon to current and future small business owners in Olde Town Arvada and up and down the entire Gold Line.
