Don’t Believe the Myths About Health Care Reform & Seniors Today is the one year anniversary of the historic law
One year ago today the President signed into law the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. This historic legislation already makes it against the law for insurance companies to deny coverage to children with pre-existing conditions, provides seniors with free preventive health care and starts to close the Medicare Part D prescription “donut hole”.
The health care law brings affordable, quality care to Americans of all ages, but I want to take this opportunity to highlight some of the benefits that are specific to seniors – and also clear up some of the myths going around about what the new law does and does not do.
I invite you to watch a short video message from my friends in Congress on the Seniors Task Force: Co-Chairs Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) and Rep. Doris Matsui (D-CA).
