Please take this opportunity to meet with my District Office Constituent Services Team at our first Mobile Office Hours event. One of the most important functions of serving in Congress is helping my constituents cut through some of the red tape when dealing with government agencies. We help constituents with many casework issues including Passport, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and Veterans Administration (VA) benefits. If you have any questions about potential casework or the Mobile Office Hours program please call my District Office at: 303-274-7944.

Government in the Grocery

To discuss with me the issues important to you, please attend my next Government in the Grocery. This is a program where my staff and I go to grocery stores throughout the district and talk with constituents one-on-one. Hearing from you helps me better represent the values of the hard working people of the 7th Congressional District in Congress. Due to time constraints, we must limit each person or group to five minute intervals.

  • When: Saturday, February 20, 2010, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (Noon)

Tax Relief For the Middle Class

In April of last year, Congress passed the Make Work Pay tax credit, which provided 95% of working Americans tax relief. This provision granted a $400 credit for individuals earning less than $75,000 per year, and $800 for working couples making less than $150,000. I will continue to fight for tax policies that strengthen the middle class instead of the wealthiest 1%. In 2010, new opportunities exist to help Americans save even more:
  • Homebuyers will continue to see tax incentives of up to $8,000 on most home purchases, thanks to an extension of the Homebuyer Tax Credit program.

  • College students and their families will qualify this year for a tax credit of up to $4,000 on education expenses through the American Opportunity credit.

  • Increasing the energy efficiency of your home may earn a 30% credit on the improvements.
