Dear Friends,

As the nation prepares to celebrate Independence Day this July 4th, I will be returning home for the Congressional recess. During my time at home, from July 3rd to July 9th, I will be available to discuss important legislative issues with you. I will be attending several events throughout the district, and I hope you can join me.

  • FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF FAIRMONT PATRIOTIC CELEBRATION
    Sunday, July 4, 2010 4:00pm-5:30pm
Location: First Baptist Church of Fairmont. There will be a patriotic ceremony to honor U.S. military servicemen and women, police officers, firefighters, rescue personnel, and elected officials.
  • SOUTHPORT INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE

Location: Intersection of Moore and Howe Streets, Southport.
I wish you and your family a safe celebration this holiday weekend. Neighborhood cookouts, festive parades, and dazzling firework displays are among the most popular and cherished traditions for celebrating the 4th of July holiday. Here are some tips to help you enjoy your Independence Day:
  • Keep fireworks safety in mind. Before enjoying fireworks this year, be sure to review fireworks safety recommendations and fireworks laws by state.
  • Have a cookout. For your 4th of July events, consider preparing a patriotic treat, like those found at USA.gov’s recipe page. Remember to keep BBQ safety in mind.
  • Fly the flag. You can show your American pride by flying the flag this Independence Day. If you would like a commemorative flag flown over the Capitol and then sent to you, please contact my office.
As always, please continue to keep me informed about your opinions and concerns by phone at (202) 225-2731 or by email by visiting my website at www.house.gov/mcintyre. May God bless you and your families as you enjoy your Independence Day celebrations this weekend.

Sincerely,

U.S. Congressman Mike McIntyre
Representing the 7th District of North Carolina
