JOBS, JOBS, JOBS! McIntyre to host Jobs Summits
March 11, 2011
Dear Friends,
With all the pressing issues before us as a nation, none is more important than getting Americans back to work! I will be hosting two jobs summits in Southeastern North Carolina; one geared towards business owners and management and another geared towards those seeking jobs.
Job Creation Summit
Job Creation Summit | Tuesday, March 29th 10 a.m. -12 p.m.
Cape Fear Community College 4500 Blue Clay Road Castle Hayne, NC 28411

On March 29th we will be welcoming high ranking officials from both the Federal and State government to share with us their input on the future of jobs and the economy in our country and our region. More importantly, how our region can best position itself to be on the forefront of attracting the jobs and workforce of the future.
As you know, job creation is more than just attracting an employer to come to our region. We must plan for the future with an aggressive economic development strategy, investment in workforce training, a strong educational system, and an entrepreneurial community that is actively creating its own innovations and businesses. All of these areas will be discussed with an eye to the future of our nation and southeastern North Carolina.
The event is free and open to the public and will take place at Cape Fear Community College’s north campus, located at 4500 Blue Clay Road in Castle Hayne.

On Monday, April 11th at Southeastern Community College in Whiteville, I will host a Job Seekers Bootcamp.
This one day workshop is designed to give job seekers the tools they need to land a good job. Some of our area's most knowledgeable career counselors, business leaders, HR managers, and career coaches will be on hand to provide practical advice on resume improvement, interviewing, networking, and job seeking.
In addition, stations will be set up to provide one-on-one resume and interview counseling. I will also give an update on what the U.S. Congress is doing to create more jobs.
I am excited to host this boot camp for individual job seekers so they can be sure they are at the top of their game in this extremely competitive employment environment. This boot camp will not only refine skills and reignite enthusiasm, but will put job seekers in touch with key job resources.
This event is free for residents of the Seventh District and will take place from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. Please register by visiting Congressman McIntyre’s website at http://mcintyre.house.gov. If you have questions about this event, please contact Congressman McIntyre’s Washington office at (202) 225-2731 or

Sincerely,
U.S. Congressman Mike McIntyre
Representing the 7th District of North Carolina
