McIntyre Named Top Democrat on Key House Armed Services Subcommittee
January 27, 2011
Dear Friends,
It is an honor to continue my service on the House Armed Services Committee. I have been selected to serve as the ranking member of the Seapower & Projections Forces Subcommittee. This key subcommittee has oversight over the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps programs including acquisition of all Naval ships and equipment, Marine equipment and Air Force bombers.
It is important that we work to do all we can to bolster our Naval fleet and air operations and provide the Marine Corps with the equipment they need for combat and security. Ensuring our nation’s freedoms are strengthened and never compromised will be my guiding principle in this position, and I look forward to working with all the members of the House Armed Services Committee to achieve this goal.
I have also been selected to serve on the Tactical Air & Land Forces Subcommittee. which includes jurisdiction over all Army and Air Force acquisition programs and weapons systems. In addition, this subcommittee will be responsible for Navy and Marine Corps aviation programs and weapons system, National Guard and Army and Air Force reserve modernization, and ammunition programs.
I look forward to working with my colleagues and U.S. military leadership to ensure that our nation’s armed forces are prepared and well equipped to protect and serve our great nation.
Sincerely,
U.S. Congressman Mike McIntyre
Representing the 7th District of North Carolina |
