Dear Neighbor,

It is imperative that we take care of our veterans—all of our veterans. Unfortunately, too many of our female veterans are having trouble finding work when they return home from serving our country.

Currently, more than one in seven female veterans in California is unemployed. This is unacceptable. Female veterans have played a significant role in protecting our country, and it is one of my top priorities to address the cause of this problem. Even worse, there are over 900 homeless female veterans in Los Angeles alone—which is a 51% increase from 2009.

I am trying my best to bring awareness to this growing problem. I wanted to let you know that I appeared in a news story on the CBS Evening News concerning unemployment among female veterans. You can see the story by clicking here.

I hope that you can watch this important story.

Sincerely,

Linda T. Sánchez
